This is an amazing Pharaonic Coffin in the Egyptian Museum. I stand in front of such monument thinking about the thousands of years it has survived since it had a dead body inside and buried in the ground until it rested under the beautiful lights in the Egyptian Museum. Amazingly this ancient piece of art has kept almost all the texture and lines along the year. The nose is probably the only area affected by age.
مشهد جميل لتابوت فرعوني أثري في المتحف المصري بالقاهرة. أقف أمام مثل هذه القطع الأثرية أفكر بعمق في آلاف الأعوام التى مرت عليها منذ أن كانت المومياء بداخلها وتم حفظها فى مقبرة وحتى تعاقبت الأزمان ووصلت لنراها تحت هذه الأضواء فى المتحف المصري. ويا للعجب، فقد استطاعت هذه القطعة الأثرية (مثله امثل آلاف القطع) أن تحتفظ بمعظم تفاصيلها وجمال خطوطها عبر العصور. فى الغالب أن الأنف هي المنطقة الوحيدة التي تأثرت بمرور الزمن.

Photography inside the Egyptian Museum has been prohibited for years (I don’t know why!). It was announced only few weeks ago that Cameras are allowed inside. But as I mentioned before, tripods are not allowed. And that explains why I have used that relatively high ISO number. My main aim of this shot was to capture the Coffin face from this angle with the natural lights falling from the ceiling dome in the background onto the Coffin. The fallen lights had helped a lot boosting the details and textures of the coffin.
لسنوات عدة، كان التصوير داخل المتحف المصري ممنوعا لسبب لا أعلمه. ولكن من عدة أسابيع، تم اإعلان عن فتح المتحف للكاميرات لتصور بداخله لفترة محدودة. ولكن كما ذكرت مسبقاً فإن حامل الكاميرا لا يسمح بدخوله للمتحف تحت أي ظروف. وهذا قد يفسر لكم سبب استخدامى لقيمة ISO عالية نسبيا في هذه الصورة حتى أزيد سرعة التقاط الصورة لتفادى اهتزازها. كان هدفي الرئيسي من هذه الصورة أن ألتقط وجه التابوت من هذه الزاوية وهو موجهاً للأعلى ويسقط عليه الإضاءة الطبيعية النافذة من القبة التي تتوسط سقف المتحف. فقد ساعدت تلك الإضاءة الساقطة على إظهار تفاصيل ونقوش التابوت.
The photo was made using only a single exposure with the above settings, no HDR this time. I just thought about showing the lights and their reflections on the Coffin, so I didn’t need to have a higher dynamic range. However, I was using a CPL filter (Circular Polarizer) in front of the lens to get as soft lights as I could. I have processed the Photo mainly in Adobe Lightroom to adjust the lighting levels and colors tone. But had to use Adobe Photoshop to boost the sharpness and add a little punchy taste by adjusting the contrast. قمت بإخراج الصورة باستخدام تعرض واحد فقط بالإعدادات التي ذكرتها بالأعلى، فلم استخدم تقنية HDR هذه المرة. كنت فقط أركز مجهودي في المعالجة لإظهار شكل الإضاءة وكيفية سقوطها على وانعكاسها على التابوت. ولهذا لم أحتاج الحصول على مدى ديناميكي عالٍ. ولكنني كنت أستخدم فلتر CPL على العدسة للحصول على الضوء بشكل ناعم قدر استطاعتي. قمت بمعالجة الصورة على أكثر من مرحلة. المرحلة الأولى والأساسية كانت على برنامج لايتروم لضبط مستويات الإضاءة وتنعيمها و ضبط الألوان وإظهار جمالها. المرحلة الثانية من المعالجة كانت في برنامج فوتوشوب حيث قمت بتحسين حدة الصورة وأضفت بعض التباين مما أدى لهذه النتيجة. إذا كان لديك أي تعليقات أو استفسارات بخصوص الصورة، يمكنك طرحها فى التعليقات بالأسفل.
