Capturing the amazing Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls in Sunrise One more time. After a long and exhausting night trying to Photograph the Milky Way, we end up with an amazing Sunrise. As it was my second visit to the place, I was confident that light conditions in the place are awesome at Sunrise.  

زيارة جديدة لشلالات وادي الريان الرائعة. بعد ليلة طويلة ومرهقة في محاولة لتصوير مجرة درب التبانة، حصلنا في نهاية المطاف على شروق رائع للشمس.وبم أنها كانت زيارتي الثانية للمكان، فقد كنت واثقاً من أن ظروف الإضاءة في المكان ستكون جميلة ومناسبة عند شروق الشمس.

Meditation Moment

Meditation Moment

A nice meditation moment captured for that Gentleman. He was resting for sometime at noon time. And we were about six photographers spotted his photogenic face and impressions and started taking photos of him from different angles. This amazing place is a rest house in the middle of nowhere at Wadi Hitan (Valley of Whales) in Egypt’s Western Desert.

لحظة تأمل جميلة قمت بالتقاطها للرجل اثناء جلوسه. من الواضح أنه كان يأخذ قسط من الراحة وقت الظهيرة. كنا تقريبا ستة من المصورين وجدنا هذا الرجل بوجهه الجذاب وتعبيراته الملفتة، وبدأنا فى التقاط الصور له من عدة زوايا مختلفة. هذا المكان الرائع كان عبارة عن استراحة فى صحراء مصر الغربية بمنطقة وادى الحيتان.

Framing Ibn Tulun Minaret

Framing Ibn Tulun Minaret from inside the Dome. I honestly didn’t see this view a lot. Although it might look obvious, I don’t think it was captured a lot before. For some reason, not a lot of photographers published photos for this obvious composition. Is that because of the excessive variation of lighting? May be.

وضع مئذنة ابن طولون داخل الإطار. فى الحقيقة لم أرى هذا المشهد تم تصويره كثيراًعلى الرغم من أن المشهد قد يبدوا سهلاً. لسبب ما لا أعرفه، لم يقم كثير من المصورين بالتقاط المئذنة من هذا الوضع. هل قد يكون السبب فى الاختلاف الكبير فى الإضاءة بين الداخل والخارج؟ قد يكون، لا أعلم.

كثير من الاوقات يتواجد المصور فى أماكن خلابة، ويلتقط العديد من الصور ولكن لا يجد فى النهاية أي صورة منهم ملفتة للنظر. وغالباً يكون السبب هو عدم قدرة المصور على اختيار تكوين جيد يجذب نظر المشاهدين. وهنا يطرح السؤال نفسه، كيف يختار المصور التكوين فى تصوير اللاندسكيب بحيث تكون الصورة مريحة لعين المشاهد ويساعد على إظهار جماليات الصورة؟

Beauty in Ibn Tulun


That’s an incredible feeling I had while moving underneath an 1100 years old building capturing the Architectural Beauty in Ibn Tulun. That’s Ahmed Ibn Tulun mosque in the middle of Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest mosque in Cairo surviving in its original form, and also is the largest mosque here in terms of land area.

لقد كان شعوراً لا يصدق عندما كنت أتحرك بين أروقة مبنىً عمره 1100 عاماً. إنه مسجد أحمد بن طولون في وسط القاهرة، بمصر. هو أقدم مسجد في القاهرة لا يزال محتفظاً بشكله الأصلي، وهو أيضاً أكبر مسجد هنا من حيث مساحة الأرض.

The Secrets Behind Tanura Sufi Dance

Tannoura or El Tanura is a popular traditional Egyptian folk dance derived from the whirling dance performed as a Sufi religious practice. The word “Tanura” may refer to the dance, the dancer, or the large skirt used in the performance. Furthermore, the name of one particular group of performers in Cairo, Egypt is “Al Tanura Dance Troupe” [intl.feedfury.com].

رقص التنورة هو نوع من الرقص الشعبي المصري المستمد من الرقص بالدوران الذى تمارسه الطرق الدينية الصوفية. كلمة “تنورة” قد تشير إلى الرقص، الراقص، أو رداء التنورة الكبيرة التى تستخدم في الأداء. وعلاوة على ذلك، هو اسم مجموعة راقصة معينة من المؤدين في القاهرة، بمصر هي “فرقة رقص التنورة”

What a night?  What a show?

The Sufi Tanura Folklore Dance or what’s known locally as “Tanura Show” is a unique experience that I was really missing. If you’re visiting Egypt anytime, it’s not optional, you must see that great show. The show is basically formed by a group of skilled dancers, who in the same time plays a lot of Sufi music. Although the show was not long (about an hour) but it really amazed me and all the audience.

ما أجملها من ليلة؟ وما أجمله من عرض؟

رقص التنورة الفلكلورى الصوفى، أو ما يعرف باسم “عرض التنورة” تجربة فريدة من نوعها وكنت بالفعل أفتقدها. إذا كنت ستزور مصر في أي وقت، فحضور هذا العرض ليس اختيارياً، يجب أن ترى هذا العرض الرائع. يقوم بالعرض أساسا مجموعة من الراقصين المهرة، والذين في نفس الوقت يعزفون الكثير من الموسيقى الصوفية. وعلى الرغم من أن العرض لم يكن طويل الوقت (حوالي ساعة)، ولكنه حقا أذهلني وجميع من حضروا.

What’s better than a relaxing warm winter night with friends at such a beautiful place? It was Relaxation To The Max in a fun night last December at one of my friends’ house. That’s the major landscape at El Soukhna resorts in Egypt.

ماذا أروع من الاسترخاء فى ليلة شتوية دافئة مع الأصدقاء في مثل هذا المكان الجميل؟ كانت ليلة ممتعة في شهر ديسمبر الماضي في منزل أحد أصدقائي. هذا هو المشهد المعتاد للمنتجعات فى العين السخنة في مصر.

Warm Sunrise on the Lake

A moment of magic … That’s what I exactly felt in front of such an exotic warm sunrise. This was a crazy morning in December on the Lake of Wadi Al Rayan, Egypt. In situations like this, I literally freeze to take a decision whether  to take the shot or just hold and keep staring to the beauty of mother nature.

لحظة ساحرة … هذا تماما ما شعرت به أمام هذا المشهد الرائع. كان صباحا مجنونا في شهر ديسمبر على بحيرة وادي الريان، مصر. في مثل هذه المواقف، أتجمد كليا و يصعب على اتخاذ قرار هل ألتقط الصورة أو فقط أظل أتابع بانبهار هذا المشهد الحالم
